Tsvetov wins the Paralympic Games

Ukrainian athlete Ihor Tsvetov has won the 2024 Paralympic Games, which are currently taking place in Paris. Our compatriot won the 100-meter race for athletes with musculoskeletal disorders.

Tsvetov outpaced two Russians who finished after him. The 30-year-old native of Mykolaiv ran the 100-meter race in 11.43 seconds. The Ukrainian finished ahead of the "neutral" Anton Kalashian and Dmitry Sapronov by 27 and 36 hundredths of a second, respectively.

Another representative of our country, Ivan Tetyukhin, showed the sixth result - 12.07. It was his debut performance at the Paralympic Games.

"Tsvetov's gold allowed Ukraine to reach 10th place in the medal standings. At the same time, the Blue and Yellows share fourth place with the tournament hosts, the French, in terms of the total number of awards. Earlier, swimmer Denys Ostapchenko won the fourth highest medal for our country, winning the 50-meter backstroke.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Ukrainian swimmer Andriy Trusov was disqualified from the final of the 2024 Paralympic Games in the 100 m breaststroke in the SB6 class (athletes with impaired motor functions, amputated limbs or height impairment).
