Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan: teaser for "Total Recall" released

After two successful premieres, actor Timothy Chalamet is not resting on his laurels. He was successful in the musical Wonka, where he played the role of chocolatier Willy Wonka, and in the film "Dune" by Denis Villeneuve, where he played the intergalactic prince Paul Atreides.

In February 2024, the filming of A Complete Unknown began. This is a biopic of the legendary musician Bob Dylan. The official teaser of the upcoming premiere has recently been released.

Bob Dylan is not only a musician, a singer and songwriter. He was even awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016 for creating new poetic expressions in the American song tradition.

The film is directed by James Mangold, known for Wolverine, Ford vs. Ferrari, and Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny. The fact that Timothée Chalamet will play the role of Bob Dylan became known back in 2020 when the upcoming film was first discussed. Filming was constantly postponed, first because of the pandemic, and then because of the strike of actors and screenwriters in 2023.

The first footage from the set has been posted online: Shalamet is wearing a corduroy jacket and a knitted scarf, jeans, worn leather boots, and a cap. The filmmakers say that the actor looks exactly like Bob Dylan did in his 20s.

Chalamet will be performing many of the songs in the biopic. The actor even turned to his Dune co-star Austin Butler (also known for his role as Elvis Presley in Elvis) to help create the characteristic sound of Dylan's tone.

The film will be set in the early 1960s and will show Bob Dylan's journey from folk singer to rock star. The story begins quite romantically: young Dylan arrives in New York with two dollars in his pocket, and in three years he becomes a worldwide sensation.

The film will feature such stars of the rock scene of the time as Johnny Cash (Boyd Holbrook), Joan Baez (Monica Barbaro), and Pete Seeger (Edward Norton). Elle Fanning has been cast as the artist Sylvie Rousseau, Bob Dylan's first love.

How exactly Timothée Chalamet will be embodied in the image of the iconic musician will be revealed during the premiere, which is scheduled for next year.
