The French city of Grenoble was recognized as the world's best city

Grenoble, a city in France, has been recognized as the best city in the world for quality of life. According to a study by Oxford Economics, it has beaten Canberra, Australia, Bern, Switzerland, and Bergen, Norway, in terms of well-being and satisfaction of residents.

The city in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France scored 100 points in terms of life expectancy, per capita income, culture, and Internet speed. It is reported by Express. For comparison: Canberra received 99.8, Bern - 99.7, Bergen - 98.5, and Basel - 97.5 points for quality of life.

Surrounded by mountains, Grenoble is known as the capital of the Alps and a center for winter sports enthusiasts. The main attractions of the city itself include Place Saint-André, Place Grenette and Place Claire. Grenoble's Jardin de Ville park has Italian notes, and the Saint Laurent district, built on the banks of the Isère River, is a popular place for walking.

History buffs can visit the Château de Vizille, home to the Perrier family and the presidents of the 3rd and 4th French Republics. Vizille is home to the French Revolution Museum, considered the only place to have so many valuable artifacts from this tumultuous period of French history.

Grenoble is also known for its street art, with about 235 murals decorating the city. Every spring, the city hosts the Street Art Festival, where artists create new murals.

A must-see stop when visiting Grenoble is the Saint Bruno district, where a large market is located, with vendors offering a variety of goods from designer clothes to fresh produce.
