Experts from CarSales claim that not all large family cars are capable of going off-road, even if they have all-wheel drive. Therefore, they have compiled a rating of six 4x4 SUVs that will not let you down.

Ford Everest

The latest modification of the Ford Everest is currently among the safest family cars. In the American safety rating for children in the back seat, it received as much as 93%. At the same time, it is capable of pulling a camper weighing up to 3.5 tons. Even with all seven seats in use, the trunk of this car is large enough for a double stroller and still has room for tents. It will also delight you with many thoughtful little things in the cabin, such as cup holders, and all three rows of seats have ventilation holes and sockets for charging gadgets. Up to five child seats can be placed here, and there is enough space for a driver up to 186 cm tall.

Isuzu MU-X

The increased cross-country ability of this car will allow you to move on any off-road terrain - from rural paths to sandy beaches, while the MU-X retains ease and convenience of operation. For the comfort of all passengers, there are ventilation holes in all three rows of seats, and airbags are equipped even in the rear row. There is more than enough space for luggage storage. However, child seats can only be placed in the middle – there are no mounts for the top belt at the rear. But a driver of 186 cm can easily sit in front of a rear-facing child seat. The luggage compartment in the MU-X is large, and even with all seven seats in use, a double stroller will fit there. The towing capacity of the car is 3.5 tons, which is enough for most campers.

In addition, the luggage compartment has a household outlet for a portable refrigerator. Three child seats can be placed in the second row of the Toyota LandCruiser 300 series. However, the third row is not equipped with top belt anchors. However, near each seat you can find an outlet for charging gadgets, which is convenient for long trips. A camper weighing up to 3.5 tons can be attached to the car.

Land Rover Defender 110

This all-wheel drive SUV stands out from the crowd with its strikingly brutal appearance. Its appearance alone makes it clear that it can easily handle a 3.5-ton camper and all the things you need for a family camping trip. In the 110 model, child seats can be placed only in the second row, which can accommodate up to three such devices, while the 130 model has a top belt mount in the rear row. The Defender 110 has ventilation holes and plenty of storage space for food, drinks, and other small items in all three rows of seats. The multimedia screen allows you to conveniently control the height of the Defender, which is useful when entering a multi-storey parking lot or driving off-road. A small nuance – if you need all seven seats of the car, there will not be much space for luggage, but if you use only the first two rows, you can load a double trolley and all the food and equipment for a hike.

Jeep Grand Cherokee L

The Grand Cherokee L is equipped with USB-A, USB-C, and household outlets, so you can easily charge devices, refrigerators, and all kinds of travel equipment. Even with all the seats in use, the trunk remains large enough, but if you fold down the rear row, it turns into a whole hangar for things. However, the towing capacity of the Jeep Grand Cherokee L is limited to 2.8 tons.
