Occupants hit Kupyansk with guided aerial bombs, destroyed a cafe and a church: a pastor is among the dead. Photos

At the height of the day on February 28, Russian occupiers attacked Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, with guided aerial bombs. One of the town's cafes and a church were hit.

At least two people were killed and wounded in the attack. The details were provided by the Kharkiv regional police.

On the afternoon of February 28, enemy subversive rocket launchers hit a cafe in Kupyansk. The premises of the establishment were destroyed. A 31-year-old woman was injured. Her 39-year-old brother was killed in the attack.

In addition to the cafe, the invaders attacked the Church of Jesus Christ. A 58-year-old pastor was trapped in the rubble of the church. The man died from his injuries.

The head of Kharkiv regional military administration Oleg Sinegubov clarified that the invaders were attacking the center of Kupyansk. As of 15:30, there are five wounded.

He also added that there may be people under the rubble: search operations are ongoing.

"Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure have been damaged," the official said.

The invaders also shelled the village of Ploske in the Velykoburlutsk community. Information about the damage and casualties is still being clarified.

Law enforcement officers are working at the arrival sites: investigative teams, criminalists and explosives experts have been deployed.

"Investigators have opened criminal proceedings over the violation of the laws and customs of war under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the Kharkiv regional police added.

Earlier that day, it became known that the occupiers had attacked Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of the enemy attack, a woman was killed and a man was wounded.

In addition, on the night of February 28, the occupiers launched ten Shaheds into Ukraine.

Air defense forces shot down all the drones over Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, but in Odesa, the fragments of a downed drone damaged a transformer at a critical infrastructure facility, causing a fire to break out.
