It became known under what number Ukraine will enter the parade of athletes at the opening of the 2024 Olympics

The opening ceremony of the 33rd Summer Olympic Games will take place in the French capital Paris on Friday, July 26. For the first time in history, it will take place not at the stadium – the organizers and hosts of the competition decided to hold the show on the Seine River. OBOZ.UA will conduct an online broadcast of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics. It starts at 20:30 Kyiv time.

The main event of the ceremony will be the parade of the tournament participants. It will be attended by 205 delegations (excluding the team of so-called neutral athletes). The teams will march out according to the French alphabet with some exceptions.

Greece, which is considered the home of the Olympic Games, will open the parade, followed by a team of refugees. It is known that Ukrainians will be the 193rd to enter. Our flag bearers will be tennis player Elina Svitolina and swimmer Mykhailo Romanchuk.

The hosts, the French, will close the parade. In addition, for the first time in history, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has put the hosts of the upcoming Games at the end of the list: the United States will be the 204th, where the 2028 tournament will be hosted by Los Angeles, and Australia will be the 203rd, which will host the competition in Brisbane in 2032.

The opening ceremony itself will last more than three hours. The banks and quays of the Seine are expected to host 360,000 spectators. The athletes will go to the parade on boats.
