How to open a canning jar without an opener: simple methods
After buying canned food in a store or making it yourself, the question arises: how do you open a jar? Of course, you can use a jar opener, but you don't always have one at hand.
Fortunately, there are many methods of opening canned food without using an opener. FoodOboz will tell you about each of them in detail.
Hot water
Put the jar in hot water (not boiling) and wait a few minutes. The high temperature will make the lid "come off" and it will be very easy to remove.
Knocking
Knock on the space between the neck of the jar and the lid. Don't knock too hard to avoid breaking the glass - just a few taps are enough to loosen the lid.
Knife
Place the jar with the lid on the table and use a sharp knife to pry the lid. You should hear the sound of air entering the jar. After that, it will be very easy to remove the lid.
Scotch tape
Use construction scotch tape, which is much stronger than office one. You can also use duct tape. Wrap the lid of the jar, leaving the free edge hanging. Make a "handle" from the free edge and pull it in the relevant direction to open the lid.
