Use a toothbrush and soapy water to thoroughly clean the handles – but be careful not to get the socket wet.

• Prepare a large bowl of soapy water. Although vinegar is a versatile cleaner, it is important to note that it is not the best option for removing grease, it is more suitable for disinfecting.
• Grease acts as a magnet for food crumbs, hair, dust, and other debris, so it's better to use a professional degreaser.
• While the handles are getting wet, spray a diluted mixture of soap and water on a cloth and wipe the area where the handles are usually located, as there will probably be a sticky layer there as well.
• Then use an old toothbrush to scrub the surface thoroughly.
• Run the pens under cold water. Make sure that the handles themselves, as well as the surface to which you will attach them, are completely dry. Otherwise, you run the risk of water seeping behind the panel and damaging the hob. Simply use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe up any remaining liquid.

In general, you should wash and wipe the outer surface of the oven and hob thoroughly at least once a week. The longer the grease stays on these surfaces, the stickier and harder it becomes, and therefore harder to remove.
