Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) was suspended from boxing after his defeat by Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) on May 18. The Briton was banned from training and fighting for just a week, meaning his suspension ends on May 26.

This was reported by The Sun and confirmed by BoxRec. The decision was made by the United Arab Emirates Boxing Commission, which oversaw the fight. At the same time, Usyk is banned from training and fights until July 2.

It should be noted that the suspension of athletes after fights is a traditional rule in the boxing world. It is aimed at taking care of the fighters' health.

Usyk defeated Fury by split decision – 115:112, 113:114, 114:113. It is already knwown that the Briton will activate the rematch clause, which is scheduled for October. Bookmakers have already started accepting bets on the fight.

Promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk spoke out about depriving Usyk of the title of absolute world champion. And former boxer David Haye predicted that there will be no rematch between the Ukrainian and Fury.

At the same time, it has become known that the International Boxing Federation (IBF) may leave the Ukrainian with the organization's belt. The media found out three reasons for this.
