Glass jars can be called a problematic type of container – they are heavy, fragile, and not as easy to recycle as plastic. However, you don't have to get rid of them right away, as they can be of great use in the kitchen and beyond.

Of course, we are talking about storage. OBOZ.UA has collected several places where you can use jars in your household. They will help to tame the mess and at the same time add a touch of style to the interior.

On kitchen surfaces

Jars of any size can be a great way to help organize various small items on kitchen tables. At the same time, they can free up space in drawers and cabinets. For example, you can store kitchen utensils such as beautiful spatulas, whisks, and scoops in a jar. Or you can aesthetically arrange napkins or drinking straws in it. The jar itself can be decorated - painted, wrapped in fabric, or covered with twine.

In cabinets and drawers

Jars can even be great for keeping closed spaces clean, tidy, and organized. From the obvious, you can put cereals, sugar, pasta, and nuts in them. You can also put packets of soy sauce and ketchup from takeout orders in such dishes to use them later. Jars are also great for storing small items in drawers that might get lost among larger items. A variety of cookie cutters, skewers, measuring spoons, or napkin rings will no longer be lost.

In the pantry

If you buy food for the future, glass is the perfect material for storing it. This way, moths, beetles, and other pests won't get to your food. In addition, cereals, pasta, or flour packaged in this way are more convenient to store than in bags that are constantly torn or spilled. A row of jars filled with different colors and textures also looks very aesthetically pleasing. And you can easily attach stickers with expiration dates to the glass, which can be easily removed without leaving a trace.

On the table

The kitchen table can often become a dumping ground, as everyone leaves all sorts of food-related items here, forgetting phones, writing utensils, toys, and many other items. Put a large jar on the table so that you can put such things in it. That way, anyone looking for something lost can easily guess where it might be. If your kitchen table is also used as a place to do homework or an improvised workplace, keep a jar with pens, pencils, and scissors on it, which can be easily put away during meals.
