Planning a trip during the golden season? Go to our "neighbor". There are many routes here that you definitely haven't been to before. So where to go and what to see - we tell you below.

Dunajec Castle

Located in the town of Nidzica on the shores of the Chorshtyn Reservoir. It was built around the XIV century on the site of a defense structure. During its existence, the building had several owners. It was owned by the Berzhevych family, Count Emerick Zapolya, the Horvat family, magnate Jerome Laski, and others.

By the way, a mysterious map in the Inca language called Kipu was found here. It referred to hidden treasures.

Today, the castle has a museum, a hotel, and a restaurant. Tourists can also enter the former ballroom, see the Salamon Rooms, and go down into the dungeon where torture was carried out. The location can be seen in several movies, including the 1990 film Revenge.

By the way, there is a yacht marina nearby, where you can go on a boat trip.

Krynytsia-Zdroj

The balneological resort is located in the northeastern part of the Beskydy. The area is dominated by dense coniferous forests, and the town is famous for its mineral water springs. They were discovered by geologist Rudolf Zuber in the nineteenth century.

People with gastrointestinal diseases and endocrine disorders come here most often. The most popular medicinal drinks are: "Jan", "Tadeusz", "Józef", "Mieczysław" and "Slotwinka". By the way, the latter is said to cure infertility.

If you are traveling with kids, we recommend visiting the local toy museum. It keeps a variety of children's toys from the 20th century: dolls, houses, fairy-tale characters, trains, etc.

We also recommend taking a funicular to the highest peak - Yavorzhyn. From here you can admire the panorama of the mountain range of the same name. And, of course, go to the multi-storey observation tower, whose path leads to an altitude of 1030 meters.

Slovenian National Park

It is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea. The natural area was founded in 1966. In 1977, it was included in the network of world biosphere reserves. It is home to more than 260 species of birds, including the gray goose, Icelandic shorebird, great crested newt, and mallard. Beavers, foxes, chamois, and deer can also be found here. The location is also famous for its huge moving dunes.

Be sure to visit the town of Leba. There is an interesting natural attraction here. It is a maze that covers an area of 5 thousand square meters. The most agile will be able to complete it in about 20 minutes. There is also a magic garden with arcade puzzles in XXL format.

Salt mines in Wieliczka

The mine operated from the XIII to the XX century. There are corridors and galleries on nine underground levels - from 57 to 198 meters. Their total length is about 300 kilometers. By the way, the location is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Here tourists are introduced to the methods and technologies of salt extraction. In addition, the chapel of St. Kinga was built in the digging hole. Today, it is the largest shrine underground. Everything in it is made of salt: altars, walls, frescoes, chandeliers, and even a copy of Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper.

Travelers also come here for medicinal purposes. The rock has a positive effect on the respiratory system.

An interesting fact: a sanatorium was built at a depth of over 135 meters. Physiotherapists and nurses work here all the time.

Eagle's Nest Trail

A 170-kilometer hiking route from Krakow to Czestochowa. It is famous for the numerous castles and fortresses located along the route. Travelers will be able to see several attractions along the way, including:

Koźczecki Castle. The building was founded around the XIV century. It served as a defense and residential building. In 1997, it was restored. Today it is a hotel.

Peska Skala Castle. It was built during the reign of King Casimir III on the site of a wooden fortress. Nowadays, the zinc sarcophagi of the Seniawski family members are kept in the building.

Ogrodzieniec Castle. The exact date of its creation is unknown. For more than 100 years it belonged to the noble family of Włodki Sulym. In 1470, it was bought by wealthy burghers Ibram and Petro Salomon. Since then, the owners have been constantly changing. The last owners are considered to be the Volchynsky family.

By the way, in 2001, the location became a movie set for the movie Revenge. Special decorations were set up here, which have not been removed to this day. The castle can also be seen in the Netflix movie The Witcher.
