The long-awaited release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 by Ukrainian developers GSC Game World has become an important event in the world of gamers. On November 20, the shooter topped the Steam sales charts and took first place in the list of paid projects.

As the story takes place in the Chornobyl exclusion zone, the game is fully localized in Ukrainian, both in terms of voice acting and in-game texts. Windows Central published a separate article on why even foreign gamers should use Ukrainian voice acting.

It has become known that Western publications advise gamers to use Ukrainian voice acting whenever there is dubbing in other languages. And the reason is not only that it will allow you to better immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Zone.

Experts say that Ukrainian voice acting is of higher quality compared to the English version. Windows Central even noted that the dubbing loses the peculiar charm of the game. To put it mildly, the English voice acting does not inspire enthusiasm among gamers.

"In the case of the main character Scythian in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, to say that the English voice acting is terrible is an understatement. His voice is... completely flat and emotionless, but full of clumsy and shaky pronunciation. After listening to him for a few minutes, I wanted to punch him in the face, and I can't imagine playing the entire game with this dubbing," says the Windows Central article.

Gamers and critics agree that the Ukrainian voice acting sounds better and is better suited for the Zone.

"Even if you're used to listening to 'dubbed with subtitles', I strongly recommend opening the 'Game' section in the settings and trying the Ukrainian voice acting. I promise you will enjoy it," summarizes the Windows Central expert.

PC Gamer also published tips for the game. The first thing they recommend is to switch to the Ukrainian voice acting.

"In the English dubbing, Scythian sounds like a 'secondary action movie' character. And in general, English sounds clean and without an 'Eastern European' accent, which makes it sound like the characters in the game are Americans and British," PC Gamer says in its article.

Foreign players are advised to switch to Ukrainian and leave the subtitles in English if necessary. They say that the language creates a unique atmosphere.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA told that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl had an impressive start on the Steam platform. According to SteamDB, at the time of launch, more than 113 thousand people were playing the project on Steam at the same time, which was one of the largest results among modern releases.

And critics have already published reviews calling S.T.A.L.K.E.R. "brutal and relentless".

OBOZ.UA also noted that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 can be played with a subscription to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
