Lavender has long been a favorite of flower growers, because it looks luxurious in the garden and at the same time pleases with a wonderful aroma. In addition, it is a drought-resistant plant that feels good in the heat and does not require complex care.

However, only the most experienced know that it is sensitive to the influence of neighboring plants. The Express turned to garden plant expert Connie Powles to find out which neighbors will help lavender bloom longer and more luxuriantly. And which ones can harm it.

According to the expert, roses are the perfect pair with lavender. And planting a flower next to rosemary or other similar aromatic herbs will give both of them a wonderful bloom. The thing is that they like the same planting conditions and are equally drought-resistant. They all need a lot of sun and well-drained soil.

However, there are also plants that do not get along well with lavender. The expert named three of them.

So it's better not to plant impatiens near lavender. This flower loves shade, so they will definitely not be able to thrive in the same conditions. So lavender in the shade will not produce many buds. Place these plants in different areas with the right level of light for both.

Visually, hostas look great next to lavender. But, like the impatiens, they are shade-loving. In direct sun, which is suitable for the purple beauty, hostas will get sunburned.

As for camellias, these plants are perfect for a rustic garden, which is also suitable for lavender. But their ideal conditions are a lot of water and less sun. That is, the exact opposite of the ideal conditions for lavender.
