The Algarve province in the south of Portugal has been awarded the status of the most favorable vacation destination in Europe. The region is one of the five cheapest vacation destinations in the world, which will allow you to save a considerable budget. Post Office Travel Money has published an annual report, according to which the Algarve province took 5th place, which was determined by the best value for money as of 2024.
The report noted that a cup of filter coffee will cost 88p, a bottle of local beer - £2.20, and a glass of wine - £1.76. In particular, three meals a day per person with a bottle of home-made wine will cost £39.52. According to Metro, this is less than half the cost of the same set in popular tourist resorts such as Nice in France or Cancun in Mexico.
As we noted, in 2023, the beaches of the Algarve province were recognized as the best for recreation thanks to its 200-kilometer coastline. In total, this region contains 88 suitable places, among which every tourist will find something to their liking: from golden sand to rocky bays.
