Fans of traveling around the world know well what a strong passport is. This is a document that allows visa-free entry to a large number of countries. And in 2024, the passport of the same country became the strongest in the world for the fourth time in a row.

According to the Mirror, the global ranking showed that citizens of the United Arab Emirates have the greatest freedom of movement around the world. They have access to more than 90% of the world and can visit 133 countries without a visa and 47 countries with a visa upon arrival. As a result, the UAE received a mobility score of 180.

Overall, the top twenty is dominated by European countries. They took the remaining 19 highest positions. Spain overtook Germany to become the second most powerful passport in the world, and Finland took third place. Meanwhile, France (4th place) became the strongest passport among the G20 countries.

This year, the United Kingdom dropped again in the ranking, this time by 10 positions to 32nd place, with a mobility score of 174. By this indicator, it is on par with Singapore, Malta, Canada, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, and Australia.

The United States has also dropped down the table, ranking 38th. American citizens can visit 123 countries without a visa and 50 countries with a visa upon arrival. Experts expect that this position will change again after Donald Trump returns to the US presidency. But whether it will be for the better or for the worse is difficult to predict.

The world's passports are sorted by the Mobility Score (MS), which includes visa-free travel, visa-on-arrival, and e-visa if the country issued it in less than three business days. The higher the MS index, the better global mobility the holder of such a passport enjoys.

European passports generally received the best rating. And almost all Balkan countries have moved up the table over the year. Kosovo was particularly notable, gaining as much as 35 points in its mobility ranking, thanks to the country's accession to the Schengen area in early 2024.

Syria received the least strong passport in the world. Its mobility rating is 40 points. Citizens of the country need visas to enter 158 countries.
