Tesla has revealed details of its new low-cost cab. Photo
Earlier, the long-awaited Tesla Cybercab was presented as the company's cheapest model, and the premiere was accompanied by ambiguous messages from Elon Musk. New details of the taxi have emerged, and they are no less surprising.
According to Motor1, the Tesla Cybercab autonomous taxi will be controlled by people from a distance. It turned out that the term "unmanned" in this particular case only means that there is no driver in the car.
Employees are expected to use modern virtual reality headsets to remotely control vehicles, simulating real-world driving conditions. Of course, in the real world, there is a taxi with a driver behind the wheel, but Tesla is known to go its own way.
This is exactly how Tesla Cybercab will be controlled, and passengers will have no control over it at all. At the same time, the company believes that such a system will make travel safer and even, theoretically, create an opportunity for autopilot training.
