The Netflix series My Life with the Walter Boys, which has been compared to the cult Gilmore Girls in terms of its atmosphere, will soon get a new season. And the streaming service has already revealed the first details about the next part of the youth show.
According to the Tudum blog, the filming of new episodes has already been completed. They were filmed in the Canadian city of Calgary, Alberta. Now the second season is entering the post-production stage. Netflix plans to release it in 2025. However, there is no exact premiere date yet.
The first season of My Life with the Walter Boys tells the story of 15-year-old Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), who moves across the country from bustling Manhattan to rural Silver Falls, Colorado. After the death of her parents, she is forced to live with her mother's best friend, Katherine (Sarah Rafferty), who is her guardian. She and her husband George (Mark Blucas) are raising their two sons.
As she settles into her new suburban home, Jackie is determined to focus on her dream of going to Princeton. At the same time, she has to sort out her feelings for Katherine's sons, who are completely different from each other. Alex (Ashby Gentry) is reliable and well-read, while Cole (Noah LaLonde) is mysterious and restless. Both cause a whole storm of emotions in the girl.
The series, which premiered on December 7, 2023, was ranked No. 1 in the global Netflix English-language TV show rankings and hit the top 10 in 88 countries. It is called one of the most popular contemporary youth projects.
One of the success factors may be the involvement of Jason Priestley in the creation of My Life with the Walter Boys. The actor, who once played the role of Brandon in the hit show Beverly Hills 90210, directed two episodes of the first season and produced one. Next season, he will return to the director's chair and become one of the executive producers.
