There is a new high-paid profession in Ukraine: what you need to do
Ukraine will officially have a new profession – deminers. The National Qualifications Agency has approved its professional standard. It meets international requirements (IMAS – International Mine Action Standards). It is already possible to find high-paying jobs for deminers in both the military and civilian sectors.
The new profession was announced by the Ministry of Economy. They noted that the full name of the specialty is "Explosive Ordnance Disposal Operator (deminer)."
"Until now, operators have been forced to train specialists for humanitarian demining on their own according to their developed programs. The existence of a professional standard creates uniform rules for all and significantly expands the opportunities for deminers' training. After the standard is approved, several measures will be taken to introduce the new profession into the legal field," the statement said.
It is emphasized that the professional standard will be used to develop an appropriate educational standard. This will make it possible to graduate certified deminers on a par with other professions after receiving accreditation from the Ministry of Education.
In general, it is noted that the developed standard provides for 5 levels of training. In particular:
- The basic level will allow a specialist to engage in non-technical inspection.
- The next level will allow for a technical survey.
- Then – demining of territories, buildings, etc.
Work and salary for deminers
At the same time, it should be noted that today there are quite a few vacancies for deminers on the market, not only in the military sphere. The jobs are highly paid – some companies, according to a major HR portal, offer salaries of UAH 30,000, 40,000, and even 60,000.
In the defense sector, deminers can earn much more. In particular, you can find offers with salaries of 55,000, 74,000, and 120,000 UAH.
As OBOZ.UA reported, at the same time, Ukraine has launched a pilot project to train women truck drivers, as the government wants to expand the professional potential of women in the transportation industry. The project currently covers 4 cities: Kyiv, Ternopil, Rivne, and Khmelnytskyi, and you can apply for training online.
