DIU drones hit gunpowder plant in Russia's Tambov region. Video

As a result of an operation by the Main Intelligence Directorate (DIU of the Ministry of Defense) on the morning of July 4, the Tambov Powder Plant was hit. It is located in the city of Kotovsk.

According to OBOZ.UA's source in Ukraine's intelligence, the attack was carried out using kamikaze drones, one of which successfully hit the enemy's military-industrial complex. The consequences of the hit, the degree of damage and information on enemy losses are currently being clarified.

At the same time, the official authorities of the aggressor state deny that the powder plant was hit. The "governor" of the Tambov region, Maksim Yegorov, said, "Both UAVs were destroyed. There are no casualties or damage. The situation is under control".

Nevertheless, locals are posting videos online that clearly show one of the kamikaze drones reaching its target, followed by detonation and fire on the territory of the facility.

"If two drones were shot down, what is this? It definitely doesn't look like a downed drone. Is the government lying again?" one of the eyewitnesses of the attack asked rhetorically on social media.

"Of course, there was no hit. And there was no Tambov Powder Plant in this case either," a source in the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine commented on the operation.

It is worth reminding that this is not the first time that the Tambov Powder Plant has been targeted by Ukrainian drones. On January 19 of this year, the DIU's drones already attacked the facility. Then one of the kamikaze drones exploded on the site near the gunpowder mixing shop. Drones also attacked the plant in November last year.

The Tambov Powder Plant is one of the largest enterprises in Russia that produces ammunition and powder for small arms. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the plant has increased production by a third. The company has been under sanctions since March 2023.
