It is already the fifth ship carrying agricultural products and metal that has left Ukraine since Russia broke the grain deal and began blockading Ukraine's Black Sea ports. The grain will go to Africa and Asia.

Ukraine's Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov wrote about this on X, formerly known as Twitter. Cargoes with Ukrainian agricultural products will be delivered mainly to Africa and Asia.

"The PUMA bulk carrier left the port of Odesa with 30 thousand tons of rapeseed and metal. This is the fifth vessel to use the temporary evacuation corridor from Ukraine's Black Sea ports," he said.

Ships leave Ukraine

Following the disruption of the grain deal, the JOSEPH SCHULTE grain carrier was the first to leave the Black Sea on August 16 and reach its destination. Ukraine has announced temporary corridors in the Black Sea for merchant ships sailing to and from Ukrainian ports. Russia unilaterally withdrew from the Black Sea "grain deal" on July 17, repeatedly attacking port grain infrastructure ever since.

Ukrainian farmers faced serious problems after Russia withdrew from the grain deal and launched massive attacks on Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea. Alternative export routes proved too expensive for many businesses, and now farmers do not know how to sell their products. This may lead to grain harvest rotting in warehouses or even in the fields.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Turkey called for an urgent resumption of the grain deal. They are convinced that the Danube ports will not be able to replace the Black Sea for food exports, leading to China and Africa not receiving enough grain.
