Tastier than pizza: quick pie with salty filling without baking
The best accompaniment to soups and salads are homemade savory pies. They can be prepared both in the oven and in a frying pan. For the filling you can use minced meat, fish, vegetables, boiled eggs with green onions.
Culinarian Irina shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious mincemeat, onion pie that's made in a pan.
Stuffing:
- minced meat - 400-500 g
- onion - 1 pc.
- carrots - 1/2 pc.
- salt, pepper, paprika - to taste
- frying oil
- hard cheese - 120-150 gr
Dough:
- eggs - 3 pcs.
- salt - 1/2 tsp.
- kefir - 1 cup
- flour - 180 g
- baking powder - 0,5 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Chop the onion finely and fry until transparent in a little vegetable oil. Add grated carrots and fry all together until golden. After adding minced meat, mix, add salt, pepper, paprika and stew until almost all the moisture evaporates, but do not overdry.
3. For the dough: add salt to the eggs, beat until smooth, pour in the kefir and mix well. Mix the flour with the baking powder and sift it. The dough should not be too liquid.
4. Fill the minced meat with the prepared batter. Cover with a lid and cook over low heat for about 15-20 minutes. Then flip to the other side and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
5. Sprinkle the finished pie with grated hard cheese and greens.
