Dzyuba speaks out against the West

Lokomotiv Moscow striker Artem Dzyuba was trolled by fans when he announced his refusal to play in Europe after being unable to play in the Turkish league. He accused Western countries of an aggressive policy towards Russia, prompting fans to speculate that he was preparing for a career as an MP.

"I really wanted to go to England at one point, but now I don't want to go there anymore. Even if I were called - I won't be - I wouldn't go. Because of the situation, because of the attitude towards us. I am very radical. It's not good. They took off all their masks and showed their attitude towards us. If you treat us like this, then we don't need you at all. I can't stand them at all," the forward said in an interview with journalist Nobel Arustamyan's YouTube channel.

Readers of the Sports.ru portal openly ridiculed the 33-year-old footballer. They noted that he had been disgracefully expelled from Turkish side Adan Derispor, for whom he played only five matches, and that no one was interested in him in the leading championships.

"What a comfortable position Artem has taken. It wasn't me they didn't invite, it was me who didn't want to go", "A real united Russia guy!", "I wonder why they started treating me like this? Out of the blue, probably", "Artem, no one needs you in Europe. An ordinary opportunist who is building a platform for a political career at the end of his football career," "Dzyuba has launched a PR campaign to prepare for his candidacy for the State Duma," "I understand him, I once dumped Jessica Alba like that," "The deck is lost in the Turkish championship, what Europe for you," the comments read.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Artem Dzyuba announced his support for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin amid the war in Ukraine.
