Easier and tastier than pizza and pie: pita envelopes with stuffing in 10 minutes
If you want to prepare a hearty dish for a quick snack, use pita bread and any filling for it. For this will do: meat, fillets, fish, canned foods, boiled eggs, cheese, cottage cheese, greens.
Culinarian Valerie shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious pita appetizer, filled with mushrooms, filet and eggs.
Ingredients:
- Rectangular pita - 2 pcs.
- Champignons - 300 g
- Hard cheese - 100 gr
- Chicken fillet - 1 pc.
- Egg - 1 pc.
- Onion - 1 pc.
- Salt - to taste
- Chicken spices
Methods for cooking:
1. Peel and dice the onion, fry until golden, add the diced mushrooms and fry on medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes until the moisture has evaporated.
2. After chopping the boiled fillets, add them to the pan and stew until tender. Season with salt and spices and stir.
3. Transfer the prepared mixture to a bowl, add the grated cheese and mix everything.
4. Cut the pita into long strips about 10 cm wide. Place the filling and roll up into an envelope. Brush the edge with egg.
