Tastier than any cake: budget Zebra pie for tea
Homemade pies can be made from different doughs, but the best ones are sponge cake and shortcrust pastry. They can be made with or without various fillings.
The cook shared a recipe for a delicious, flavorful Zebra pie with cocoa on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 150 g of sugar + a pinch of salt
- 120 g of milk
- 125 ml vegetable oil
- 250 g of flour
- 1 tbsp of starch
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 3 tbsp cocoa + 3 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla sugar
Method of preparation:
1. Beat eggs with a pinch of salt and sugar for about 5 minutes at an above-average mixer speed until fluffy. Add milk and oil and mix flour with starch and baking powder.
2. Sift flour into the beaten eggs in 2 steps and beat at the minimum mixer speed each time.
3. Divide the batter into 2 parts. Mix one with cocoa and milk, and add vanilla sugar to the other. Mix well.
4. Pour two parts of batter into the mold in a checkerboard pattern. Make a pattern on top with a toothpick or a fork.
5. Bake the cake at 180 degrees for 50 minutes.
