Homemade fried pies are a real taste of childhood. They are especially delicious if you put a little fried cabbage inside. And to make the dough fluffy and golden after frying, you need to choose the right base.

The idea of making crispy fried pies with cabbage and buckwheat was published on the Instagram page of food bloggerNataliia Ryzhkova (natali_ryzkova). The dough is made with kefir.

Ingredients for the filling:

  • 1 cabbage (small)
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion
  • boiled buckwheat (to taste)
  • salt, pepper
  • oil

How to prepare the filling:

1. Stew the cabbage in a frying pan with carrots and onions.

2. Add the spices.

3. Finally, cooked buckwheat.

4. Mix everything.

Ingredients for the dough:

  • 25 g of yeast
  • 300-400 ml of kefir (at room temperature)
  • 1 egg
  • salt
  • sugar
  • vegetable oil
  • flour (adjust the amount - the dough should not be stiff, but a little liquid, but so that you can make pies)

How to make the dough:

1. For the dough, add yeast, salt, sugar to the kefir and let it swell for 20 minutes.

2. Add the egg, 3 tbsp of oil and flour.

3. Knead the dough and let it come together.

4. Form patties and fry them in vegetable oil.
