The eggs we buy in stores usually have a number on them. And each manufacturer has a different number. This is because it determines the quality of the product. You can do this yourself.

Food blogger Nadia Oranska (nadia.oranska) shared how to choose quality eggs by number on Instagram.

You can choose by size, but it is better to choose by their damage. Each package of eggs (which are intended for sale) has a special code. From the code, you can find out the quality of the egg, the conditions in which the chickens were kept, and where the eggs came from.

The markings can be found on each individual egg in the form of a stamp on the shell. The first digit is important:

0 means the eggs are ecological, so they are the best and healthiest, and the chickens are kept in natural conditions. The birds walk, eat special feed and what they find on the street.

1 - eggs of chickens that walk in the fresh air, move freely, eat feed, greens and grain.

2 - eggs of chickens that are constantly kept in cages (chicken coops), there can be up to 25 chickens in 1 square meter.

3 - eggs of hens kept in small cages all the time, unable to turn around and often having their beaks cut off to prevent them from hurting other hens. There is nothing useful in such eggs, and the animals are abused.
