Braised cabbage with tomato paste and garlic for lunch: a simple recipe

Ingredients:

  • white cabbage - 1 pc.

  • carrots - 3 pcs.
  • onion - 2 pcs.
  • garlic - 3 pcs.
Onions and carrots for the dish
  • salt - 1/2 tbsp. l.
  • tomato paste - 1.5 tbsp.
Tomato paste
  • bay leaves - 3 pcs.
Bay leaves and spices
  • salt, ground black pepper - to taste
  • vegetable oil for frying

Method of preparation:

1. Finely chop the onion, grate the garlic on a fine grater, carrots on a coarse grater, and chop the cabbage thinly.

2. Heat a frying pan, add oil and fry the onions and carrots well, fry everything for about 5 minutes. Then add the cabbage, stir and simmer under the lid, stirring constantly for about 20 minutes.

3. Add tomato paste, ground pepper, salt and mix well. Simmer for another 10 minutes, add bay leaves and turn off the heat.
