If you're lucky enough to have a ripe avocado, you've probably noticed that it tends to darken quickly after cutting. If you can't eat the fruit in one go, there are some tricks that will help you keep the color of the avocado as long as possible.

There is a simple answer to the question of why avocados darken quickly: the flesh of the fruit comes into contact with oxygen, resulting in the formation of dark brown compounds.

How to keep avocados green

Lemon juice

Just squeeze a few drops of juice and spread it evenly on the surface of the avocado.

Olive oil

Just like in the previous case, a small amount of oil should be evenly distributed on the surface of the fruit. It will create an oil barrier between the avocado and the air.

Refrigerator

Avocados should be stored in a cold place in a container.
