How to apply icing on Easter cake so that it does not spread: useful tips

Italian meringue
If for some reason you don't want to use white icing, Italian meringue is a great alternative. During its preparation, eggs are subjected to heat treatment, which makes Italian meringue absolutely safe for consumption. Besides, Italian meringue is extremely tasty.
Inscriptions and patterns
If you put the finished fondant in a pastry bag, you can put very interesting patterns or inscriptions on the Easter cake. Even if you don't have a pastry bag at hand, you can use a regular multifoil or a plastic bag by cutting off a corner.
Spatula or brush
Sugar icing can be easily applied with a silicone brush. But with white icing, it is better to use a silicone spatula.
Regular watering
And, of course, the easiest thing to do is to just pour the icing on the Easter cake and wait for it to spread, forming strange but beautiful patterns.
