Famous Ukrainian singer Tina Karol showed backstage of the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, where she performed as a guest with her new sensual composition "Roses". The singer's performance caused a stir among the audience, as she appeared on stage in a "home" look: without her usual bright makeup, lush hairstyle, and stage outfit, but with a clean face, a bun on her head, jeans, and a gray blouse.

However, if anyone thought that in this case, Karol was not preparing for the performance, they would be very wrong. From 5 am on the day of the National Selection, the star was on her feet: first, she went to the location to rehearse, and then she spent a whole day of gatherings and preparation. Tina showed all this in a video backstage that she posted on her YouTube channel.

In addition, judging by the released footage, preparations for the performance at the National Selection lasted more than one day. Together with her team, the singer carefully came up with the concept and image. The stylists decided what the star should wear on stage to make her look simple and relaxed, but still beautiful.

Fans are used to seeing the artist in bright stage outfits, seductive dresses, and so on. Luxurious curls and spectacular makeup are also Tina's integral companions on stage. However, this time it was different. The singer admitted that she was very nervous about it. In a video before going on stage, she says that she takes a lot of "risks" both as an artist and as a girl who always wants to be beautiful.

"It's like I'm going to a rehearsal. Why? We break stereotypes! This is our credo in life. To offer a different reality. But the eyebrows have to be decent," Karol said during the preparations for the performance.

A hairstylist worked on the hairstyle. He fixed the strands of the star client's hair in a ponytail and then made a bun. The hairstyle was complemented by a subtle wavy hoop in the style of the noughties.

Tina explained for the first time her decision to abandon her usual stage image and appear in front of the audience as a real person: "The concept of the number is that without makeup, without stage clothes, the music, the essence of music, is about creativity. I wanted to perform without special effects and dedicate this performance to the emotions that we all experience. They are different for everyone, but they are still, like in February, sad and sometimes too melancholy. So today, on the day of the holiday – the National Selection for Eurovision – I wanted to do something that would touch on completely different chakras, vibes, and moods. And this will be my first such performance. In simple everyday clothes and without a T-shirt. I'm taking a risk, I don't know how it will turn out."

However, in addition to the enthusiastic reviews of the singer's performance, there were also negative comments. They were mostly concerned with the "plagiarism" of Lady Gaga. The fact is that at the Oscars in 2023, a year ago, the American artist also performed without makeup, in jeans and a plain dark T-shirt. The viewers thought that Tina's performance, its composition, the Ukrainian outfit, and even her hairstyle were very similar to Gaga's.
