Duda explains how Ukraine's accession to NATO will be useful for Poland

President of Poland Andrzej Duda believes that Ukraine's accession to the European Union and NATO is in the national interest of his country. Moreover, our country's accession to these blocs is extremely important for Warsaw.

Duda made the statement on Wednesday, December 20, during a meeting of the National Defense Council of Poland, Ukrinform reports. The meeting was attended by the new composition of the Council of Ministers.

Duda emphasized that he and the Polish government must work together to support the realization of these Euro-Atlantic intentions of Ukraine.

"From the security point of view, the issue of Ukraine's future membership in NATO is extremely important. The decision made by the North Atlantic Alliance in this area would be invaluable. First, we are pushing NATO's eastern flank in this part of our border east of Poland, which is obviously important for our country's security. And besides, we are gaining another strong military partner in NATO, which at the moment already has a huge military experience, given the two years of defense against Russia," the President said.

According to him, our country's accession to the EU and NATO will be "a very important moment for Ukraine, Ukrainian society, for the morale of Ukrainian defenders and for the process of rebuilding Ukraine."

Duda hopes that Poland will also take an active part in Ukraine's reconstruction in the future. This will be beneficial for both Polish business and our neighborly relations.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Polish President Andrzej Duda convened a meeting of the National Defense Council. The country's National Security Bureau believes that Poland has three years to prepare for a possible confrontation with Russia.
