Ukraine is continuing its dialogue with the United States to revise the restrictions imposed by Washington on strikes by long-range Western weapons deep into Russia. At the same time, the Defense Forces are asking for permission to hit only enemy military targets.

In order to convince the United States, President Volodymyr Zelensky brought his Ukraine Victory Plan to the country, which he discussed with both President Joe Biden and his successor candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Zelenskyy himself spoke about whether the prospect of authorizing strikes deep into Russia has become more tangible since then in an interview with Fox News.

Answering the interviewer's question about whether Ukraine is succeeding in convincing the United States to reconsider the restrictions on the use of long-range US missiles to strike Russian territory, the President of Ukraine said that the discussion is ongoing.

"We are engaged in a dialog. But this is important, because we want to use it (American long-range weapons - Ed.) only for military purposes. It is very important for the Americans to know that we are talking about military purposes," he emphasized.

Zelensky also noted that he is now "positive" that one of Ukraine's key partners will eventually make this important decision for the defense of our country and the preservation of Ukrainian lives. The visit to the United States, he believes, brought this moment closer.

"Yes, we have started working. We took the plan with all the details, and we handed it over to Biden. We shared some ideas about it with Kamala [Harris] and Donald [Trump]. Now I don't have any skepticism about it. I'm more positive about it. But we'll see. You know, it doesn't depend on today, it doesn't depend on us. We have done our job. I think we have done it very well," the president said.

Earlier, after meeting with Trump, Zelensky said that he would support Ukraine if he became president of the United States. According to the head of state, he received "very direct information from Trump that he will be on our side."

Zelenskyy called the meeting, which was preceded by a loud scandal and a series of accusations from Republicans against Ukraine of "interfering in the American election," "very productive and important."
