"They turn a blind eye": Lavrov complains to the UN about the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in Kursk region

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has complained about the operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. According to him, the Ukrainian military is allegedly committing "outrages" and the UN is "closing their eyes."

Lavrov also lied about the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly carrying out non-electoral acts in Kursk, he told Kremlin propagandists on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Reuters reports.

The Russian foreign minister called Ukrainian soldiers "terrorist groups" and complained about the use of Western weapons by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to carry out the attack in the Kursk region. Lavrov cynically lied that Ukrainian troops were allegedly shelling civilian infrastructure and not allowing civilians to evacuate.

"It is there that they are bombing houses every day, bombing social institutions, civilians who are moving in their cars to safer places," Lavrov said.

In addition, he complained that he had not heard any voices from UN representatives responsible for human rights, including Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. According to Lavrov, the UN has prepared a standard response to questions about the situation in the Kursk region, and said that the organization is ready to speak out "for everything good and against everything bad."

Earlier it was reported that the Russian army will not be able to liberate the Kursk region of the Russian Federation in the "near future" - by the end of October, as ordered by its command. Recently, there have been no tangible changes in the progress of either Russian or Ukrainian forces there.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, military expert Ihor Levchenko said that the information disseminated by the Western media about the number of Russian troops in Kursk region may reflect a certain reality, but it is difficult to confirm the accuracy of these data. He emphasized that Ukrainian actions in the Kursk region are also aimed at forcing the Russian command to redeploy troops from other fronts, and this is dispersing their resources.
