Why Russian Su-57s do not fly into Ukrainian airspace: DIU explains

The Russian occupation forces fire missiles at Ukrainian cities from their modern Su-57 multi-role fighters only from their own territory. These aircraft have never flown into Ukrainian airspace.

The Russians are not only afraid that the Su-57 may be shot down, but they also do not want it to be known that the characteristics of this aircraft are far from what they have been advertised. This was stated by a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, during a telethon on Sunday, June 9.

The DIU believes that the characteristics of the aircraft, as claimed by the Russians, are not true, but they still have combat potential.

"And the very defeat in the airspace of Ukraine will show that the characteristics of this aircraft are far from what they advertised, in particular, on the international arms market," Yusov said.

At the same time, he emphasized that the "characteristics of the Su-57," praised by the occupiers, did not prevent them from getting their first combat defeat during the full-scale invasion.

Regarding the number of Su-57 aircraft that the Russians have, Yusov said that the DIU is currently refining the data and collecting all the information to give a final answer.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- On June 8, a Su-57 multi-purpose fighter jet was destroyed on the territory of the Akhtubinsk airfield in the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation. Satellite images confirm the defeat of the enemy aircraft.

- The DIU said that two Su-57s could have been hit at Akhtubinsk. It is also likely that there are irrecoverable losses and wounded among the occupiers' personnel.
