"We have prepared for this": AFU assured that Russian army has no strategic successes in the Kupiansk direction. Video

Russian troops keep trying to advance in the Kharkiv region. The enemy's goal is to recapture the city of Kupiansk, which is an important logistics center in the east of our country.

However, Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line and repelling the invaders, so the occupants cannot boast of any strategic successes in the Kharkiv region. Lieutenant Colonel Volodymyr Fitio, Head of Public Relations of the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about the situation in the Kupiansk direction during a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.

According to him, since the beginning of October, the situation has escalated along almost the entire front line. Kharkiv region is no exception, where the enemy is attacking in the Kupiansk direction. The occupiers are seeking to recapture the territories from which they were driven out by the Ukrainian Defense Forces last year, having liberated the Kharkiv region.

However, the invaders' plans did not come as a surprise to Ukrainian soldiers.

"The overall situation on the front line has escalated since the beginning of the month. Here we observed the enemy, we saw their preparations and we saw that the enemy was gathering forces and resources. We were also preparing for this, fortifying ourselves, pulling up our reserves," Fitio noted.

The situation in the Kupyansk direction is currently one of the hottest: the enemy is constantly attacking Ukrainian troops' positions here with almost all types of available weapons.

"Over the last day, the enemy attacked twice near Synkivka, conducted 8 air strikes, and used 16 kamikaze drones. Russians also made 736 attacks, four of them were from multiple rocket launchers, 67 from artillery and 156 from mortar attacks," said the head of the public relations service of the Land Forces Command.

However, according to him, Ukrainian soldiers are not in debt either. The day before, they eliminated 112 Russian invaders and 28 pieces of military equipment, including five tanks and four armored combat vehicles of the occupiers.

The goal that the occupiers are trying to achieve in the Kharkiv region is no mystery to the Defense Forces. However, they have nothing to boast about so far.

"This is one of the hottest areas. The enemy aims to re-occupy the city of Kupiansk, which is an important logistics center through which supplies of food and ammunition were carried out during the previous occupation. And, of course, the enemy needs to achieve at least some victory before the elections. At the moment, the Russian occupation army has no strategic success in this area," Fitio said.

The day before, the irrecoverable losses of the Russian army in manpower during the full-scale aggression against Ukraine exceeded 300 thousand occupants and 5,200 tanks. This is evidenced by the updated statistics of Russian losses, published by the General Staff on the morning of October 31.

It has also been reported that Russia is throwing Storm-Z infantry into frontal attacks near Avdiivka and that the enemy is losing up to 70% of its personnel in a few days. According to one of the Russian propagandists, the units of the occupation army "grinding to a halt" in a matter of days.
