The occupiers launched 19 Shaheds, 12 Kalibrs and two Oniks in Odesa region: Humeniuk told how many targets were shot down
On the night of September 25, Russian terrorists carried out one of the most massive air attacks on the Odesa region of Ukraine, which was repelled by the defenders of the sky. The enemy launched 19 Shahed-136/131 drones, as well as 12 Kalibr cruise missiles and two Oniks supersonic missiles toward the region.
Out of these 33 enemy targets, air defense shot down 30. This was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces, during the telethon.
According to her, the defenders neutralized all 19 Shaheds flying to Odesa and the region, and shot down 11 of the 12 Kalibrs. The remaining targets resulted in hits, which, fortunately, did not result in casualties.
As you know, there were arrivals at the port infrastructure in Odesa, and a fire broke out in a non-residential multi-storey building. In Odesa district, a warehouse and a house were damaged.
Gumenyuk clarified that the sea station in Odesa was damaged as a result of an enemy strike. The fire started in a nearby hotel building, which has been out of operation for several years.
" Oniks missiles destroyed the grain storage facilities. People were not injured," emphasized the representative of the OC "South".
She also added that the falling debris of the downed targets set fire to the warehouses of one of the enterprises and a house in the suburbs of Odesa. The fire also engulfed grass in open areas. Rescuers quickly extinguished all the fires.
The blast waves smashed windows in several houses. An Odesa resident was injured and promptly treated.
As OBOZREVATEL reported, earlier the spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ihnat explained why Russia is attacking Odesa region with Oniks. The enemy is also attacking Mykolaiv with the same anti-ship missiles.
