The United States has established that China has transferred ready-made combat drones to the aggressor country Russia for use in the war against Ukraine. Previously, Beijing was only caught transferring dual-use components to Moscow.

This was stated by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller at a briefing in Washington on Thursday, October 17, Ukrinform reports. The Russians assembled weapons and equipment from these components.

"We have seen Chinese companies supplying components to Russian companies, which were then used in Russia to make equipment, weapons, and other equipment that could be used in the war," the American official said.

Now, according to a representative of the US Department of Foreign Affairs, for the first time, a company from China has been identified that produces weapons, transfers them to Russia, and then the Russian army uses them on the battlefield.

This refers to the joint development and transfer of "Harpy" combat drones to Russia by Chinese companies. The United States responded immediately by imposing sanctions against the relevant legal entities in China – the Chinese company Xiamen Limbach Aircraft Engine Co., Ltd. which produces L550E engines for "Harpy" drones, as well as the organization Redlepus Vector Industry Shenzhen Co Ltd, which interacts with the Russian defense industry.

Earlier, Reuters wrote that Russia has launched a secret production of long-range drones in China and they have already been transferred to Russia. The journalists claim that the Russian "Kupol" LLC, a subsidiary of the Russian state arms company "Almaz-Antey," has already developed and conducted flight tests of a new UAV model called "Harpy-3" in China.

The development and testing were carried out "with the help of local specialists," and then the drones were delivered to the Russian "Kupol" plant for further testing.
