"You are not interesting": a well-known Czech coach put Russians in their place
Former head coach of Zenit St. Petersburg Vlastimil Petržela expressed confidence that Russian football is only interesting to fans from the aggressor country. The Czech expert noted that no one in Europe can name even one player from the Russian national team.
Petřela said this in an interview with the RB Sport portal. According to him, the decline in interest in Russian football in the world was undoubtedly negatively affected by the war that Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin unleashed against Ukraine with the approval of Russian citizens.
"The people of the Czech Republic do not know who Artem Dzyuba is. In my country, I don't think anyone can name a single Russian footballer - they just don't know them, you are not interesting because of the recent events. This is the attitude towards Russian football not only in the Czech Republic, but, I think, throughout Europe," Petržela said.
Earlier, the Czech Republic banned Russians from participating in tournaments in the country at the legislative level. For his part, the new coach of Dynamo Moscow, Czech Martin Lička, said he was not interested in the war in Ukraine.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko has instructed the Russian Sports Ministry to develop a plan for the development of the Shakhtar football club from the DPR and ensure its participation in competitions under the auspices of the Russian Football Union (RFU),
