"Who are they? Mockery": a new court ruling against figure skater Valiyeva caused hysteria in Russia

Tarasova speaks out about Valiyeva

The Supreme Court of Switzerland has dismissed figure skater Kamila Valiyeva's appeal against the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS) to disqualify her for doping. Moreover, the Russian was ordered to pay all the financial costs incurred by the parties during the proceedings.

This decision triggered a new bout of rage among the famous figure skating coach Tatyana Tarasova. In an interview with Sport24, the ardent fan of dictator Vladimir Putin and Z-patriot called such sanctions against Valiyeva, who foolishly continues to be considered a "clean" athlete, a mockery.

"I don't understand why we need to discuss this. I have been negative about this phenomenon from the very beginning. It's clear to us that Kamila is innocent, and I didn't expect anything good from them. As for the fact that the court also ordered Valiyeva to cover the expenses, if they need to, let them do it themselves. Who are they to oblige? Kamila was abused from the very beginning," Tarasova said.

Olympic ice skating champion and State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova had nothing better to do than tell RIA Novosti propagandists that there was a political order against the Russian figure skater.

"This fits very well with all political situations. She became a victim and a hostage of all this. They realized that the girl is talented, wonderful, gifted, and they had an opportunity to further deprive our team of the gold medal. According to their scenario of information warfare, everything fit together. Unfortunately, it continues," she said.

As a reminder, CAS disqualified Valiyeva for four years. In court, the Russian Federation could not even prove the existence of Kamilia's grandfather, who allegedly made her a cake containing a banned substance. The athlete herself made a ridiculous excuse for doping.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has recently officially stripped the Russian figure skating team of its Beijing 2022 gold medal due to doping by Kamila Valieva.
