The match ended with a crushing score

Fifth ranked Ukrainian tennis player Kateryna Baindl (née Kozlova) defeated Hungarian tennis player Amarissa Toth (WTA No. 548) in the 1/8 finals of the WTA250 tournament in Budapest. The match ended with a score of 6:3, 6:1.

The 20-year-old Toth (WTA No. 548) became involved in a scandal a few days ago when she erased the line from the out in her match in the round of 16 against Chinese player Zhang Shuai (WTA No. 45).

After that, Zhang had a panic attack. The athlete refused to continue the match in tears.

Commenting on her success, Bindl (WTA No. 100) also mentioned the incident with Zhang.

"I just want to say that I hope justice is done and that Shuai Zhang is feeling a little bit better now. I hope we get to see her again soon. She's an incredible player, very respectful and a great person. She has a lot to learn from me," the Ukrainian admitted.

In the quarter-finals, Kateryna will play against another Hungarian tennis player, Fanny Stollar (WTA No. 441). The match starts on 21 July at 15:45 Kyiv time.
