Our teams had a brilliant day of play

Ukraine's 3x3 basketball teams got off to a great start in the European Championship qualifiers. Both the men's and women's teams won two games on the first day.

In Constanta (Romania), Volodymyr Kholopov's team first defeated Germany, winning the match 16:12, and then confidently defeated Italy (18:10). Volodymyr Konev, Maksym Zakurdaiev, Maksym Nikitin and Oleg Bondarenko won Group B and qualified for the play-offs, where they will play against the second team in Group D.

Against the Italians, our team controlled the game throughout and maintained the lead until the end of the game. Forward Vladimir Konev was the most productive player in the match, scoring 7 points.

In the match against the Germans, the opponents took the lead at the start of the game, but closer to the match's equator, the Ukrainian team took the initiative. High-quality defence, a successful size advantage and control of the game's rhythm allowed Volodymyr Kholopov's team to hold the lead until the final siren.

Our big man Maksym Nikitin became the most productive player of the match with 7 points.

Ukraine's women's 3x3 basketball team of Anzhelika Lyashko, Khrystyna Filevych, Oksana Mollova and Miriam Uro-Nile defeated Denmark 16-4 after a 10-5 victory over Serbia.

The next game of the women's national team of Ukraine will be held tomorrow, 11 June - at 10.45 the girls will play against the group favourite Spain.

In the women's grid, the winners of Groups A and B, in which five teams will play, will advance to the finals. The third ticket to the European Championships will be played by the teams that take second place in the groups.
