Ukraine loses to reigning champions at the start of EuroBasket 3x3
The Ukrainian women's national team got off to a bad start at the EuroBasket 3x3, which is being held in Israel's Jerusalem. Coach Yuriy Protsyuk's team lost to the reigning champions Frenchwomen - 10:19.
"Blue-Yellow" consisting of Kristina Filevich, Angelika Lyashko, Veronika Kosmach and Tatiana Yurkevichus expectedly got from the start under the tough pressure of the favorite. At the same time, our girls defended skillfully enough and did not break the rules unnecessarily.
Two and a half minutes after the start, the Ukrainians had a five-point lead. After that, the French team managed two consecutive accurate attacks from beyond the arc, while our team fouled three times in just one minute.
By the middle of the game, the score was 4:15, not in favor of the Blue and Yellow. With such an impressive lead, the reigning champions calmly brought the game to a final victory.
Now the Ukrainians will face the Czech Republic for a possible trip to the quarterfinals. The game will start at 18:55 Wednesday, September 6.
As reported OBOZREVATEL, the Ukrainian men's national basketball team failed to win a ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
