Stakhovsky criticized Lomachenko and Hvozdyk

Famous Ukrainian tennis player Serhiy Stakhovsky, who joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the outbreak of full-scale war, admitted that he would not shake hands with boxers Vasyl Lomachenko and Oleksandr Hvozdyk. The 38-year-old Kyiv resident criticized the athletes for supporting pro-Russian narratives.

Stakhovsky said this in an interview with the YouTube channel Ukrainska Pravda. The winner of four tournaments of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) noted that he was disappointed in Lomachenko and Hvozdyk, who did not open their eyes to Russian aggression, and also spoke positively about Oleksandr Usyk.

"Who has disappointed me and who do I not shake hands with? Nothing has changed. We have a couple of boxers who, unfortunately, confirm their status with their short-sighted intellectualism. We have Vasyl Lomachenko and Oleksandr Hvozdyk. Oleksandr Usyk more or less understands the situation. I won't say that he is flexible, but he has changed his attitude. I met him once about 8-10 years ago. He was already a famous boxer then. He behaved politely and adequately," Stakhovsky said.

Earlier, the former tennis player expressed his opinion on how mobilization should be conducted in Ukraine. Stakhovsky also said that our country is at the most difficult stage of the war with Russia. In addition, Serhiy spoke about the situation in the Armed Forces.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk said that Vasyl Lomachenko's disappearance from the information field was caused by the death of journalist Serhiy Dolbilov.
