Our compatriot left a touching message

Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmyla Kichenok left a patriotic message after winning the mixed doubles at Wimbledon 2023. During a flash interview on the main court in London, the 31-year-old from Dnipro dedicated her success to Ukraine.

"I had a lot of fun playing. I want to thank my partner, my boyfriend and my team. Of course, I want to inspire all the people in Ukraine because they are all fighting for freedom in our country right now. I hope that I have added some positive moments to their day," said Kichenok.

In response, the stands of the packed stadium gave our compatriot a standing ovation.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Kichenok and her partner Mate Pavic from Croatia defeated the duo Joran Fliegen (Belgium) / Xu Yifan (China) 6-4, 5-7 (9-11), 6-3 in the final of Wimbledon 2023.
