"The territory of Ukraine. It's a violation": IOC President puts Russian propagandists in their place

Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), called the suspension of Russia's membership in the organization forced. The official noted that the aggressor country had violated the Olympic Charter by deploying its activities in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

Bach said this in a commentary to the propaganda news agency TASS. The IOC head stressed that the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) was the only member of the organization that disregarded international rules, doing so for the dictatorial regime of Vladimir Putin.

"The elimination of the ROC was inevitable because the ROC and the sports organizations that followed it were engaged in activities on the territory of Ukraine. This is a violation of the Olympic Charter. And they announced that sports organizations and athletes in this territory are now under their jurisdiction. 55 conflicts are taking place in the world. No country has ever seen such an annexation by one sports committee of another," Bach said.

It should be noted that the current IOC President has decided to step down and the Committee will receive a new leader in March next year. Faisal bin Hussein (Jordan), Sebastian Coe (UK), Kirsty Coventry (Zimbabwe), Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr. (Spain), Johan Eliasch (Sweden), David Lapartean (France) and Morinari Watanabe (Japan) are running for this position.
