Svitolina gets past Azarenka

Ukraine's fourth-ranked Elina Svitolina (WTA No. 76) was unable to contain her emotions after defeating Victoria Azarenka (WTA No. 20) of Belarus. The 28-year-old burst into tears when she won the match.

The second time tears appeared in the eyes of the Odesa woman was during an interview. Elina spent ten seconds trying to control herself while commenting on her progress to the Wimbledon quarter-finals.

It is worth noting that Svitolina was unable to give a flash interview right away, as the packed stands of the stadium in London gave our compatriot a real standing ovation.

At the same time, Victoria Azarenka was booed by the fans. After the victory, Elina refused to shake hands with her opponent, and when she left the stadium, the 33-year-old from Minsk received whistles and boos from the tennis fans in the stands instead of gratitude for the game. In response, Azarenka made a face at the fans and showed her arms crossed.
