Russians were not allowed to enter the tournament in Krefeld

The Russian youth rowing team will not perform at the European Championships, which will be held in Krefeld, Germany, from August 25 to 27. The German authorities refused to issue visas to representatives of the aggressor country, forcing them to go to the open championship of Belarus.

This was stated by the head coach of the national team Alexander Zyuzin in a commentary on the official website of the Russian Rowing Federation (FGSR). He noted that all applications of athletes from his team were allegedly approved and agreed upon by the organizing committee of the European Championship.

"Germany has not opened our visas. Unfortunately, we will not go to the European championship. All the announced participants will go to the open championship of Belarus among youth under 23 years old," Zyuzin said.

Earlier, the Russian youth rowing team refused to compete at the world championships in Bulgaria because of the requirements to sign a declaration condemning Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the Olympic champion of London 2012 in rowing Alexander Dyachenko achieved the cancellation of his disqualification for doping in Russia.
