Russia's first Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Oleg Taktarov is ready to fight world boxing legend Mike Tyson. At the same time, the 55-year-old Sarov native demanded that the American enter the ring with him for free, as he "received too much" for his exhibition fight with Roy Jones in autumn 2020.

Taktarov said this in an interview with the propaganda TV channel Match TV, commenting on possible fights between boxing veterans. According to the Russian, who has been spreading nonsense about the war in Ukraine, Iron Mike, as Tyson is known, "insulted the entire boxing community" with his $10 million fee for the fight with Jones.

"I think he should have done it for free. Because he got too much for the fight with Roy Jones and insulted the entire boxing community with that. Lewis and Holyfield beat him twice. At the same time, Holyfield was given a real current fighter, Vitor Belfort, and the money was absolutely meagre. And Mike Tyson took 20 times more than would have been decent. I'm not going to fight him for free, he doesn't deserve to fight him for free," Taktarov said.

As a reminder, the Tyson-Jones fight took place in November 2020. It lasted all eight rounds of two minutes and ended in a draw, but the judges' score was not announced. It should be noted that Tyson was challenged by the legendary Fedor Emelianenko.
