Famous Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina is undergoing rehabilitation in Ukraine. The 30-year-old athlete underwent surgery on her right leg on September 18.

On her social media accounts, the Odesa woman posted photos of herself posing on crutches against the backdrop of St. Andrew's Church.

"So, I'm on crutches and undergoing postoperative rehabilitation in Ukraine. And I will say that it is not an easy task to move around the city on crutches and live a full life," the former Ukrainian number one said.

Recently, Elina visited our military who are undergoing rehabilitation after severe injuries and amputations and are preparing to return home. And there are many civilians among us who also need inclusive conditions.

"These thoughts and my own experience made me write about barrier-free access. I want every owner of a pharmacy, shop, restaurant, gym, etc. to check whether a person with a disability can use their services or at least enter the premises. We want drivers not to block ramps outside buildings with their cars and not to park their cars in spaces for people with disabilities. Let's remember that change starts with each of us," Svitolina added.
