Crimean teams start in the second league of the Russian championship

The State Duma deputies were wildly delighted with Russia's latest disregard for international rules. In particular, they reacted enthusiastically to the start of the Crimean clubs in Division B of the second league of the aggressor country's football championship, which had previously been banned by UEFA and FIFA.

Olympic champion Svetlana Zhurova called the event historic, Sports.ru reports. The United Russia deputy added with pathos that "we are no longer afraid of anything". "They have been dreaming of this happening for a long time. The sanctions are good for us, we are no longer afraid of being punished or disqualified. The clubs can play fully. It's a historic event, justice has been done," said the former speed skater.

For his part, the odious MP Dmitry Svishchev supported Zhurova's words. In a commentary to the propaganda news agency TASS, he dreamed that Russia would soon be returned to international competition.

"A historic event, I congratulate all Crimean athletes, fans, children from children's sports schools and their parents. The region, which has good old traditions in sports, started as a new entity in the Russian Football Championship. There was no need to be afraid of anyone at first; FIFA and UEFA will return Russia as soon as it is profitable for them. Regardless of whether Crimean clubs play or not," Svishchev said.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, in Russia, matches of the B division of the second league of the football championship are formally considered amateur, although the tournament is part of the professional football hierarchy. Earlier, the Crimeans refused to participate in the Russian Cup.
